School Bus Bullying In New Jersey Leaves Mom Feeling Helpless

Bullying has become a very serious issue across the country. Part of the reason it has garnered such attention is because it is so prevalent in schools. For any parent who has watched their child become bullied, it doesn’t matter whether it is prevalent or an isolated incident. It can make them feel helpless, especially when it seems that nothing is being done to correct the situation.

This is exactly what one mother felt in New Jersey. The mother claimed that two boys and one girl bullied her 9-year-old daughter on the school bus. When she reported the consistent physical and verbal harassment to the school administration, she said that nothing was done. Fearing it would only continue, the mother and grandmother met her daughter’s school bus when it arrived at her stop one day. It is at this point that the version of what happened differs from person to person, and where the police got involved.

According to the mother, she got on the bus and asked the bus driver to identify one of the boys who had been bullying her daughter. The mother claims that she went to the boy in order to discuss the situation. She said that she was surely upset, but the boy’s parents claimed that the mother slapped their child.

The mother claimed that she was only attempting to solve the bullying issue but would never resort to violence as a resolution, adamantly opposing the claims made. “I don’t put my hands on my own kids. I would never put my hands on anyone’s kid.”
