3 Nj Senior Center Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Following allegations of drug use and prostitution, three individuals were arrested at a northern New Jersey senior center. The senior center is in the form of a housing complex, and the local newspaper was told by a reputable source that residents of the home were felt like prisoners in their own building. Two residents were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The unit is managed by the Englewood Housing Authority and is designed to help low-income and disabled residents over the age of 62. Both residents of the unit, a 75-year-old male and 66-year-old female were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as well as maintaining a drug nuisance at the Vincente Tibbs Senior Citizen Building in the unit. According to sources, the 75-year-old also confessed to providing prostitutes for his younger neighbors.

Also charged with drug crimes was a 54-year-old female that was formerly a school crossing guard, but has since been suspended after being found to possess a crack pipe. While these charges and others similar to them may seem minor and tempting not to take seriously, being charged with any crime involving drug use or possession can have serious consequences and have the potential to result in jail time.

Individuals who have been involved with a drug crime or charged with drug possession or any other crime relating to drugs, may want to consider enlisting the help of an experienced criminal defense attorney. Drug charges have the potential to be extremely seriously and individuals finding them in such a situation may want to seek legal assistance. For those that have been involved with a drug crime, getting in touch with an attorney as quickly as possible may be the best route to protect their rights.
