New Jersey Trio Arrested For Drug Charges

New Jersey Trio Arrested For Drug Charges

Pennsville Police report that they arrested two men and a woman at the Laura’s Glen Apartment Complex on Friday, Sept. 25, 2013. The police say that the arrest was the culmination of a month-long narcotics investigation, and they also claim that two of the trio were already under suspicion for distributing marijuana. The 27-year-old woman who rented the apartment and a 26-year-old man who shared the apartment were both arrested and indicted for possessing more than 50 grams of marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing marijuana with intent to sell.

The police say that the third man, a 27-year-old from Penns Grove, was charged with possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana. The police chief released a congratulatory statement that commended the officers who made the arrests and declared that the department’s efforts were focused on keeping the area safe.

Police did not specify whether the three accused individuals had been charged with other crimes in the past or if they had previous criminal convictions. The department also failed to specify what motivated the initial investigation or say why these individuals were targeted. The operation also involved law enforcement officials from Salem City, Carneys Point and the Salem County Prosecutors Office.

Drug charges can make life very difficult for the accused, who may find themselves unable to secure employment or maintain personal relationships in the future. Criminal penalties such as incarceration and fines can also exacerbate the financial problems experienced by accused individuals who end up being fired because of allegations against them. Criminal defense attorneys may be able to aid these individuals by arguing against criminal allegations and appealing sentences should convictions occur.
